ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday suspended the federal government's notification restraining the Audio Leaks Judicial Commission from proceeding.

According to ARY News, the Supreme Court has suspended the notification of the federal government to set up a judicial commission.

The Supreme Court suspended the government's May 19 notification and issued notices to the parties.

The supreme court will hear the case further on May 31.

Former President of Islamabad Bar Association Shoaib Shaheen said that the decision of the Supreme Court is the best, the decision has come according to the constitution, the federal government was acting unconstitutionally and illegally.

He said that the commission was formed without consulting the Supreme Court, which was unconstitutional, any matter related to the conduct of judges will be looked into by the Supreme Judicial Commission.

Shoaib Shaheen said that the court has laid down the procedure regarding phone tapping, if the phone is tapped illegally, then the punishment is three years, the PICA Act also applies to it.

He said that if phone tapping is done without permission, then it will be an illegal step, unconstitutional and illegal work was being done by the government.

According to Shoaib Shaheen, the government has two options to withdraw the notification or defend it in court, if the notification is not withdrawn, then the judicial commission will have to tell on which law
